The Voyage Continues

Sailing and boat building are amazing; and then there is the arrival of your first grandchild...

Kayla & Me

And, if you were wondering, thats what I did with my summer vacation!

Im heading down to Jacksonville this afternoon to make a few small modifications to the Blue Moon (more on that, tomorrow). Im sure shell also need her bottom cleaned (Ive had a bit of experience with that, lately.) And then Ill be heading north to finish my 2000 mile cruise.

It may still be 89 degrees in Florida, but its already getting cool in New York. Ive got a winter berth secured in Huntington Harbor -- a few steps from where the great William Atkin had his first boat shop, in fact -- and Id like the Blue Moon to be in it before the snow flies.

But theres a long way to go. The voyage continues tomorrow. Cant wait!
